Holi – Colour festival in Nepal

Holi got its name as the "Festival of Colors" from the childhood antics of Lord Krishna, a reincarnation of Lord Vishnu, who liked to play pranks on the village girls by drenching them in water and colors.
Celebration rangwali (playing with the different colours) or Holi welcomes everyone who loves to play with colours and shares friendships. The frolic and the fight with colours is played getting together each other at the open ground, street and around the temples. Groups of people everywhere celebrate having musical concerts. People visit to their families, friends and relatives share the happiness, gossiping, laughing as well enjoy with the holi delicacies foods and drink.

This year, Holi begins on Monday 9 March and ends on Tuesday 10 March. The timing of Holi depends on the moon, meaning that the date of the event can vary, although it usually occurs in March to mark the end of winter
