EVENT DETAILS:

With an aim to recognize and promote emerging talents in the field of Engineering and Sciences, IEEE Nepal subsection is organizing a national competition for young engineers and scientists, who have either graduated from their undergraduate studies or are on the verge of completing their study in the current academic calendar, where they can showcase their project paper and presentation to win exciting awards. The competition provides a platform for fresh engineering and science stream graduates to build a valuable professional network and share knowledge and research findings, meanwhile getting an international recognition from the IEEE brand.

COMPETITION DATE:
December 21, 2019

ELIGIBILITY:
Anyone who is a recent graduate or will be graduating within the current academic year from any one of the following Engineering or Science streams:

- Engineering Streams: BE in Computer Engineering, BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering, BE in Electrical Engineering, BE in Mechanical Engineering

- Science Streams: B.Sc. CSIT/BIT/BCIS/BIM.

COMPETITION CATEGORIES:

The participants can participate in a group of 4 members and can choose to compete in one of the following 3 categories based on the type of their undergraduate course:

1. Computer Engineering (CE) Stream :

Students from BE in Computer Engineering are eligible for participating in this category.

2. Computer Science, IT, and Science (CSS) Stream :

Students from BSc CSIT, BIT, BIM, BCIS and Computer Science are eligible for participating in this category.

3. Telecommunication, Electronics, Robotics, Automation (TERA) Stream :

Students from BE in Electronics and Communication Engineering, BE in Electrical Engineering, BE in Mechanical Engineering are eligible for participating in this category

AWARDS:

Each project team will compete against other project teams from the same category only. For each of the 3 categories mentioned above, following awards will be provided:

1. Best Project Award (For each of the 3 categories)
- Cash Prize of Rs. 50,000 /-
- Free subscription of IEEE membership for all the team members for 1 year. (worth 20k)
- Certificates and Medals

2. First Runner Up (For each of the 3 categories)
- Cash Prize of Rs. 25,000 /-
- Free subscription of IEEE membership for all the team members for 1 year. (woŕth 20k)
- Certificates and Medals

3. Many more awards on each categories like Best Presentation, Most Innovative Project, etc.

REGISTRATION DETAILS:

For participating in the Young Engineers’ and Scientists Project Contest, participants must submit an Abstract of their Project before Nov 16, 2019. If the project team is selected, they must register themselves as participants.
- Maximum of 4 members are allowed in each team
- Registration Fees:
Rs. 5000 /- per team for a team of 4 members,
Additional Rs. 1500 /- per member for additional members.
- Registrants will get a 25% discount on IEEE Student/Professional Membership lasting up to January 2021).
